Caesarea Martima

Caesarea! The beautiful city built by Herod more than 2,000 years ago. In this ancient city you can find many archaeological remnants of the what was the big city of Caesarea. Caesarea was a very important city at the time of Herod and it is mentioned in the Bible a few times. For example when Cornelius the Centurion asked his people to bring Peter to Caesarea. It is also mentioned that Paul was imprisoned in Caesarea. This is one of the amazing sites that you can visit in Israel where the Bible comes to life.
