Jerusalem in the Eyes of Jesus – part 2 of 3

This is part 2 of a 3 post series. If you missed the 1st part, click here.

This video tries to describe and visualize for us what did Jesus see and find when he came to Jerusalem. The video also provides insights and archaeological findings & information describing how Herod the Great built in Jerusalem. How he overcame the engineering challenges of constructing such a magnificent and huge Temple and its surrounding area.

We are reminded of the fact that Jerusalem is located on the border of a desert and that’s the reason for the network of cisterns and water pools & tunnels aimed at collecting rain water: for domestic as well as spiritual purification purposes (‘Mikve’).

The most famous pool in the city was the Siloam Pool. It was a part of a very impressive Water Project built by King Hezekiah in the 7th century BC. For more details on this project, click here.

Another pool, famous as well, is the pool of Bethesda. The meaning of the name is the pool of Mercy and this is where Jesus healed the crippled man that lay by the pool during 38 years and could not get to the healing waters. You can find more details on the Pool of Bethesda in a previous post of mine, click here.

Come find the Israel in you and touch for yourself all these Holy Sites.

I would like to caution that there may be inconsistency between archaeological findings and tradition and it is not for me to approve or disapprove. It is for us to each make our own judgment.

Thank you Samyaza Shemyazaz for sharing this video of “Lost Worlds” Series.
