PASSOVER Explained

To all those celebrating Passover – Happy Passover.

My last post focused on the Passover story and origin. Today’s post will discuss traditions and how the Passover Seder (meal) is celebrated.

One of the most important blessings in the Seder ceremony is: “Next year in Jerusalem”. Try to imagine that during 2,000 years Jews have always been praying for Jerusalem. See you next year in Jerusalem (or even this year) during one of the RELIVE THE BIBLE TOURS.

The meaning of ‘seder’ is order. It means that we have a very clear set ceremony that is carried out during this meal to celebrate Passover. This meal is characterized as a family event with many guests – the more the merrier.

Haggadah – the meaning of Haggadah is to tell, to explain, to give a story and during the ‘Seder’ it is traditional to read from the Haggadah and retell the Passover story and teach our sons how great is the God that led the People of Israel from Egypt to the Promised Land, from slavery to liberty.

This is one of the 3 pilgrimage festivals (Sukkot - Tabernacles, Shavuot – Pentecost, and Passover) to Jerusalem in which the people of Israel used to come to the Holy Temple to celebrate the feasts. You can get a good understanding of these pilgrimages here: http://bit.ly/HolyTemples

Enjoy the video and to those celebrating the Seder Happy & Kosher Passover.

Stay tuned to my next posts that will continue discussing Passover and Easter.
