News from the Past - Herod's Palace

A few years ago, in an excavation close by the Tower of David and the Citadel, the palace of King Herod the Great was found. We have information from the book of Jospehus Plavius and it very accurately describes the city at the time of Herod and Jesus. Herod ruled between 36 BCE to 4 BCE. After Herod passed away, the Governor of Judea Provinkia came to live in this Palace. The fact that Pontius Pilot stayed in the Palace (that was previously built by Herod) opens up the possibility that the meeting between Jesus and Pontius Pilot, was at Herod's palace and not, as we traditionally believed, in Antonia's Fortress.
